About Us
Burning Man Project is the nonprofit that brings more joy, awe, and connection to the world.
Since the first wooden Man burned on a California beach 1986, Burning Man has evolved from a single annual event into a global cultural movement advancing a more creative, connected and thriving society.
From neighborhood meet-ups and civic art projects to our signature annual Black Rock City gathering in Nevada, a temporary city of more than 70,000 humans, we work to foster authentic human connection, creativity and innovation.
